What a lovely week it has been so far in the North Lakes, done some gentle walking and enjoyed the scenery, the food and the beer. Today (Wednesday) was a wee (10mile) walk around Derwentwater Lake, absolutely gorgeous. Stopped for a coffee a third of the way round at a small local vegan coffee roaster, (New Dawn Vegan Coffee shop) enjoyed the oat milk flat white and flapjack, laura had a blueberry muffin which was blueberries with a hint of muffin, It was wonderful I was reliably informed. Stopped for lunch at the chalet a mile from the Keswick, lovely roasted veg and feta salad for laura, and I had Tiroler Grostl (no never heard of it either!) it was brilliant potato, bacon and onion hash in a caraway infused ham stock and topped with 2 fried eggs, perfect ! Kora had many titbits. Got back to the caravan for a well earned sit down and cuppa and finished the night with a couple of pints in the local pub having a lovely chat with some of the locals/holiday makers. Lets hope tomorrow is just as good.
